On Tuesday and Thursday Mrs. Crook came to our class and did special Aboriginal Lessons with our class. She read the story 'Feathers', we learned that First Nations people would get feathers as awards or acknowledges of good deeds or accomplishments and we made real cool feather fans. She also taught about Innukshuks and read the great story 'The Three Snow Bears' and we made puppets to re-tell the story. Our big buddies helped us finish our puppets and then we had to tell them the story. I was suppose to also tell you it at home!
Our field trip notice for bowling came home so please return as soon as possible.
We are learning to play badimonton in gym. This can be a great fun summer activity!
Both our class and Mrs. Roberts class listened to a great story 'Humpery the Lost Whale' and did a literature response based on this true story. We had to sequence the events in the story and glue them in the right order onto a large Humpback Whale. Now there are humpbacks swimming down to Mrs. Roberts class and back to our classroom.
Our last exciting news this week was that our butterflies emerged from their chrysalis' - Ms Rowledge-Toscani had to release one on Wednesday as it was escaping but today we realized the last two - one of which was missing one of it's wings but it was still a survivor! We released these two in a neat garden with lots of flowers across from the forest, we all made a special wish when we let them go. Unfortunately two didn't develop or emerge but we are hoping they still might emerge this weekend and if they don't we learned that is nature's way.
