This week we started our new Halloween Reader's Workshop.
On Monday we got our JRR books - we must remember to bring those to school every day as we are reading them at home and at school daily.
We began our bat theme, ask me some facts I have already learned! We made some really cool ones with our big buddies today. They will hang in the cave on our classroom door - some may even fly in the hallway or classroom! The whole school is having a Halloween decorating door contest - both Ms Roberts and our class are studying bats so we have bats on our doors!
Today we had an earthquake drill and reviewed what we need to do if there was ever an earthquake.
Ms Rowledge-Toscani reminded us to bring in our comfort kits.
Paulette Bourgeois the author of the Franklin series is our new author on our Author's Tree. We have watched a couple Franklin stories on the Smartboard and also read a few of these books. We also went to Paulette Bourgeois' website and watched a neat video on where she got the idea to write about turtles - ask me about it (hopefully I will remember!)
Don't forget to bring in the library card forms (including the cards - signed at the back), these must be in on Monday.
***Thanks to the drivers that have stepped up for our visit to the pumpkin patch, next Thursday, October 25th - I am still waiting to hear from a few parents but it is now looking possible. I will confirm with all drivers by Tuesday next week.
It also looks like we may be short drivers for the Justice Institute on Tuesday, November 6th so if you are available to drive please let me know asap. Thank you.
