October 26/12

We had a fun but busy week!  The highlight of course was the pumpkin patch.  They brainstormed all their favourite things from the field trip and we covered a big piece of chart paper.  After the pumpkin patch we had buddies and did a life cycle pumpkin project.  We have them hanging and up in our classroom.  Ask me to explain what the life cycle of a pumpkin is?   Also the exciting thing we learned at the pumpkin patch was that pumpkins can float.  Thanks to all the drivers and supervisors,  your help made this trip possible.

We finished our bats for our door and hung most of them in the cave,  Mr. Conway is even flying in our cave!  What do you think of our door?

We went and looked at all the decorated doors in the school - some were very cool.  After our tour many of us decided to make our own ghosts and then we got Ms Rowledge-Toscani to put up a tree on our bulletin so now we have a spooky ghost eye tree just like the book we read.  This is a picture of us busy making ghosts - both Colin and Kendra became experts and taught many of the other children how to make them.

All of us are getting very good at making patterns - we finished another rotation of different pattern stations.  Our favourite station was the Halloween figurines that we put in to many different patterns.

We took home a notice today, explaining our Halloween Celebration on Wednesday.  Thanks to Hila, Karman, Jaxon, Cole, Dharma and Zackary for providing the snacks.  As mentioned costumes can be worn but remember they should be easy to take on and off so your child can go out for recess and lunch.  The school Halloween parade is at 8:40 a.m.  all parents are welcome.

Thank you for the quick return on the library cards.  Our field trip will be Friday, Nov. 16th and the notice will be coming home on Tuesday.    For our field trip on Tuesday, November 6th to the Justice Institute, many students have not returned the permission slips plus we are again short drivers.  If you are available please let me know asap.
