This has been an exciting week of Club RED - Author Visit, Mrs. Amsden a retired teacher who used to work at Fairview shared her journey of getting a book publish. The students all really enjoyed her book "Grizzly Pete and the Ghosts". We have put Janet Amsden up on our authors' tree. We also have had a focus of poetry this week and had lots of fun on Wednesday and Thursday with our Poem in a Pocket! Our hallway reading was noisy but everyone was very engaged reading their poems. We are enjoying Shel Silverstein's poems.
Next week will be exciting but busy:

Monday, February 25th - Skating in the afternoon - please remember to send skates, helmets, gloves or mitts, snowpants if needed and Booster Seats
Wednesday, Feb. 27 Wear Pink for Anti-bullying Day
Thursday, Feb. 28 - Dress up as your Favourite Book Character
Friday, March 1 - Special "Body Presentation" instead of Family Reading - hopefully you can come, it will be like our bat celebration. With Mrs. Roberts' class we will be sharing some songs and showing you what all we have done and learned during our body theme.
