April 19th

We have started working on our Ocean Theme.
We all helped to make a scale for "Rainbow Fish" then made our own fish with one special silver shining scale that Rainbow Fish shared with each of us.  We now have an ocean bulletin board outside our classroom with all our fish and of course Rainbow Fish!   Thanks to Shannon (Ashton's mom who helped us make them)!  ***The kids still need to add a few things to this bulletin board but as soon as I have a picture I will add it.

During our last explorations we had a station that we had to try to make as many words out of the word "Happy Spring".  When Ms Rowledge-Toscani calculated all the different words Division 9 came up with 50 words!   The list is posted outside our class,

Our Scientists this week have been Cole, Geena, Ashton and Jordyn.  We have learned about friction  magnets and a lead pipe, chemical reactions and how seperate an egg yolk from the egg white.  Mrs. Buchan also brought in some sea monkeys for our class. Many of them are having babies so we will have the opportunity to watch them grow.

Earth Day is Monday, April 22 so we need to all wear green.  We will be helping our environment by picking up garbage (if you have any rubber gloves please send them for your child) and in the afternoon we will also have a special movie "The Lorax"  which focuses on the importance of taking care of our earth.

Musical Theatre presentation has been moved to May 1st @ 12:50.

Just as a reminder that there is an early dismissal on Thursday, April 25th for conferences.  Students will be dismissed at 11:40 a.m.    Due to the fact that I have recently already met with all of you Division 9 will not have additional conferences.  If you however would like to discuss something further please let me know and we can arrange a time.
